Club Touring Cycle Saturday 16th Nov 2013
This Saturday, for a change there will be a Club ‘touring’ cycle as opposed to a training cycle.
For many members this has been a long season and most of us have not seen each other in a few months. For many of the new members they have not met most of the other club members, therefore this is an ideal opportunity for everyone to get together for a nice leisurely cycle and a chat.
The plan is to drive to Ferns and meet in the church car park for 08:45 to be leaving by 09:00. Cycle approximately 50km, stopping half way in Kilmuckridge for coffee and scones in Kate’s Café on the Main Street, before heading back to Ferns.
A touring cycle is where everyone starts together and everyone finishes together, irrespective of who is in the group. The cycle will only go as fast as the slowest cyclist. So no matter how slow you think you are, this cycle will not be too fast for you. There will be a stop after about 25km (halfway) in Kate’s Café in Kilmuckridge for coffee and scones, so bring a few euro.
Forecast for Saturday is a very light SWW breeze, with no rain, i.e. perfect conditions.
