Well known Ironman participant Alan Ryan took part in the Skerries half distance triathlon (half ironman distance) in Dublin last weekend. Alan, who came third in his age group at the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii last October, took first place in Skerries. He completed the course in a staggering 04:41hrs. Originally from Skerries, Alan was delighted to win the race on his home turf. He was using the Skerries race as part of his training for the Barcelona Ironman race, which takes place later this year. Alan was closely followed across the finish line by his brother Justin Ryan who took fourth place overall.
