Our next mock tri is on this Sunday.  Meet at the beach car park at 8.30 for a 9.00 start. Sprint or olympic distances, or mix and match.  If you’ve ever wanted to try a triathlon or see what it’s about come along – non-members welcome!

New summer training schedule starts this week

See the training tab on website http://wextriclub.com/training-schedule/ for details.  This week: Sea swim on Wednesday at 7 in Rosslare, 20km cycle time trial on Thursday and mock triathlon in Rosslare Strand Saturday morning.  There is also a long cycle to Mount Leinster (100km) bank holiday Monday morning, leaving the Maldoron at 9am.

Monthly 5km timed run this Friday 27th March

meet at the tourist office on Wexford Quayfront for a 7pm start.  Fastest runners off first so there should be a mass finish.  Open to non-club members too so bring a friend. We’ll run through the route on the evening.

Coached swimming

The final 10 week block of coached swimming starts next Monday/Tuesday 8-9pm in Ferrybank. Spaces available on both nights. Please email the club at wexfordtriclub@gmail.com by the end of the week if you would like to take part or have any enquiries.

Well done Ger and Bernie

Congratulations to Ger Kelly who was the first woman home in the Killarney Adventure Race last weekend.  Also, well done to Bernie Miller who came in first in her age group in the Narraghmore Duathlon hosted by Athy Tri Club in a time of 1h22.  Fantastic results!

Brick session (cycle-run) – Saturday 14th Feb

Meet at Rosslare Strand beach car park for a 9.30 start.  10km cycle, 3km run repeated as many times as you like.  We’ll run through the routes on the morning. This session is suitable for all fitness levels so come give it a try.

Inter-club training duathlon in Bunclody on Sunday hosted by Racing 795.  3km run, 20km cycle, 3km run. Registration at Kildavin GAA club at 9 for a 10am start.  €5 for tea and coffee.  Athletes of all levels welcome.

Coached swimming – new block

New 10 week block of coached swimming starts on the 23/24th March in Ferrybank pool.  Sessions are on Monday or Tuesday 8-9p.m, cost is approximately €70 (depending on numbers). Contact the club at wexfordtriclub@gmail.com if interested.

Cycle Saturday 27th February

Meet at McDonald’s carpark at 10.  Plan is to head for a tour around the south of the county, to Kilmore and then on toward Lady’s Island, Rosslare and back in. Coffee stop in Kilmore or Kilrane depending on how we’re feeling.  Should be about 65km.  Anyone who wants to do a shorter spin could …
